OK. So, let me tell ya'll how stupid I am.

Thanksgiving was fine. I made that jive ass turkey, no problem. Enjoyed family, etc, although there was both Paul and I were stresed trying to get everything ready and we got a little snappy with each other.

During Thanksgiving lunch with my family, my mom, sister and niece and I decided to drive up to the North Georgia Premium Outlets Thursday night at midnight. We've done early bird shopping on black Friday for years, but kind of spontaneously decided to do the over-night thing saying that it would be an "adventure." So, after dinner with Paul's parents and friends at our house and washing about a gazillion dishes, we met up at my mom's and headed up to the outlets. It's about a 45 minute drive, so we left around 11. About half an hour into the drive, we hit traffic. Thinking their must be an accident up ahead or something else going on, we pateintly waited, but the traffic never ended and we didn't arrive at the outlet mall until 12:45. That should have been our sign to turn around, but we were still thinking "adventure" in our heads and we were still in a good mood, so we proceeded to try to find a parking space. There was satellite parking across the street, but my sister has a bad hip and my elderly mother could have never made the walk. My sister has a handicapped permit so we were thinking that we might have a chance at a handicapped spot. We proceeded to stalk people with bags that looked like they might be leaving for a while when I volunteered to go park the van in the satellite area and walk back alone, but my mom was worried about me walking that far alone in the middle of the night. We finally found a space and at about 1:30 am, we began shopping. We split into groups- me and my mom and my sister and my niece. There were literally lines to get into stores and once inside, the line wove around the store and finally through the register. There was so trying on. No browsing. You just got in the line on the outside of the store, walked through the store in line and picked up the items you wanted and proceeded through the check out. Every store that we wanted to go in, my mom said was too crowded. Sigh. We ended up going through Lane Bryant where we each got a new pair of pajamas and I got two sweaters and a pair of jeans for my mom to give me for Christmas and then I got a shirt for my sister for Christmas. My mom wouldn't go in any more stores. When we met back up at 3, we traded partners and I went with my 16 year old niece who was trying to get gifts for her boyfriend. We went to Pac Sun and it took us over 2 hours to get through that store. My feet, legs and back were killing me, but everything in there was 50% off.

We ended up getting home around 6 and my sister and neice headed to the mall and Target, but my mom and I opted out. I don't really have "shopping" money right now and my mom was beyond her limit. It was a crazy night and an "adventure" I will not be repeating next year, although the deals were awesome. Not worth it though. Especially when you're not even buying anything.

You're crazy! And so are a bunch of other people! I didn't even know that this was an option. I bet the outlet employees were thrilled when they heard they had to come to work at midnight on turkey day! Ha!
